Where is the Luton Airport Drop Off and Pick Up Zone?

The main Drop Off and Pick Up Zone is the closest standard area specifically intended for quickly dropping off passengers. London Luton Airport advises drivers to use postcode LU2 9QT, then follow the airport signs for the Drop Off and Pick Up Zone rather than relying entirely on satellite navigation as they approach the airport.

The zone currently has two entrances. Once a vehicle enters, its registration is recorded through ANPR and the 30-minute maximum stay begins.

From the zone, passengers follow the signs towards the terminal building. London Luton Airport puts the distance at approximately 260 metres and describes the walk as around five minutes, with a mostly flat surface.

For passengers with heavy luggage, young children or limited mobility, that distinction is worth knowing before the journey. It is a terminal-side drop-off, but does not allow a vehicle to pull directly onto the pavement immediately outside Departures.

Can you get dropped at the door at Luton Airport?

The Luton Airport drop-off payment is made online after the vehicle has visited the zone. Payment is due by midnight on the next day following the visit.

Select the option to pay for a Drop Off or Pick Up visit.
Enter the vehicle registration.
Find the relevant airport visit.
Pay the charge using a debit or credit card.

London Luton Airport’s current General Terms of Use state that the applicable enforcement charge is £95. APCOA also states that Parking Charges can be paid at a discounted rate during the first 14 days, although the current Help page does not specify the discounted amount.

The easiest way to avoid the issue is to pay the Luton Airport drop-off charge shortly after leaving the airport rather than relying on remembering the following evening.
