When you book, you choose your cab pickup date and time, your station and your destination, and minicabit returns fixed quotes to select from. At the station, your driver collects you from the agreed pickup point.
Plans rarely run exactly to time, so if your train is delayed you can update your pickup time, including by SMS while you are still on board. Your booking, your price and your driver stay in place, which is the difference between a pre-booked station taxi and joining a rank on arrival.
