How booking a taxi with minicabit works
Booking a local taxi takes five steps and can be completed in under a minute.
- Enter your pickup location, destination and cab pickup date and time. Add passenger numbers and luggage so the comparison technology can size the vehicle correctly.
- Instantly compare fixed quotes from licensed Private Hire Operators covering your route, shown side by side.
- Select whatever matters most to you - price, vehicle type or customer rating. Vehicle options run from Standard through Executive and Luxury, and include Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicles, in saloon, estate and minibus sizes depending on operator availability.
- Pay securely online or in the app. Your fare is fixed at this point and won’t change.
- Receive your confirmation with the operator and later driver details. Amend or cancel free of charge up to the cancellation cut-off time shown on your booking.
Booking in advance
You don’t need to book on the day. Advance booking is available up to 12 months ahead, which is handy when a journey’s fixed well before travel – an early flight, a wedding, a hospital appointment or the first day in a new job. Pre-booking also fixes your price at the moment you book, so a busy travel date won’t change what you pay. Booking a taxi from the airport
Airport journeys are the most common type of trip people pre-book rather than book on demand, and they’re the journeys where booking ahead makes the most difference. If you are flying into the UK for a wedding, a funeral or a family occasion, you’re usually landing at an airport you don’t know, at a time you can’t control, with luggage and often with people who need collecting at the same time. It’s the same for a business traveller landing for a morning meeting, or a family starting a holiday with an early morning departure. In each case the journey is fixed long before the day, which means you can book an airport transfer and fix the price long before you travel.
Every airport pickup booked through minicabit includes Meet and Greet as standard. Your driver monitors your flight in real time and adjusts their arrival if you land early or late, the driver arriving 30 minutes after the new landing time, waiting for you in Arrivals with a name board.
